Meet the Ingredient

Jojoba, written in Thai as โจโจบา, grows as a resilient evergreen shrub with thick grey-green leaves and acorn-shaped seeds. Inside each seed lies a clear, pale-golden oil whose natural stability and ability to soften dry skin without creating an excessively rich or greasy finish.

We use jojoba seed oil across several of our nourishing body oils. In our Rich Body Oil, it works alongside coconut, sesame, argan and shea to soften and replenish dry skin. Our Uplifting Body Oil pairs it with rosemary, ginger and aromatic oils for a lighter, refreshing body ritual, while our Herbal Warmth Body Oil brings it together with ginger, black pepper and turmeric in a comforting massage blend. Across each formula, jojoba helps the oil glide smoothly over the skin and leaves the body feeling soft, supple and nourished without an overly greasy finish.

Verified by Modern Science

Jojoba is composed predominantly of long-chain wax esters which create a lightweight emollient layer across the skin, smoothing rough surface cells and slowing the escape of moisture. This helps dry skin retain softness and comfort without the heavy finish associated with richer butters and oils. Both pre-clinical and clinical research supports jojoba’s place in skincare as it has documented benefits for the skin.

Did You Know?

Long before jojoba became a familiar ingredient in modern skincare, Indigenous peoples of the deserts of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico used its seeds and golden wax to care for the skin and hair. In such a dry climate, jojoba was valued for helping soften and protect skin exposed to the elements.

That same nourishing quality is why we use it in our own body rituals today. Paired with herbs and oils inspired by Thai herbal wisdom, jojoba helps create smooth, comforting blends that leave dry skin feeling soft, supple and well cared for.
