Meet the Ingredient

Tangerine, known in Thailand as som khiao wan (pronounced sohm kee-yao wahn), is loved for its sweet, juicy fruit and bright citrus scent. Its peel is filled with tiny pockets of aromatic oil that release a fresh, uplifting fragrance when pressed.

We use tangerine peel oil in our Jasmine Ylang Ylang & Tangerine Hair Kindness Wash, where its lively citrus scent brightens the richer floral notes of jasmine and ylang ylang for a fresh, gentle cleanse. You’ll also find it in our Kindness Lotion, where the same uplifting aroma complements a soft, nourishing formula that leaves the skin smooth, comfortable and lightly scented.

Verified by Modern Science

Tangerine naturally rich in limonene and has powerful antioxidant, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Did You Know?

Tangerines belong to the mandarin family, which has been cultivated across China and Southeast Asia for centuries. Beyond eating the sweet fruit, the fragrant peel has long been valued in traditional preparations, where it was dried and kept for its distinctive citrus aroma and practical uses.

That long tradition of making use of both the fruit and its aromatic peel is part of why tangerine fits so naturally into our own rituals today. We pair its bright, fresh scent with jasmine and ylang ylang in our Kindness Wash and Lotion, creating everyday body care that feels uplifting without becoming overpowering.
