Meet the Ingredient

Sacha inchi, known in Thailand as thua dao Inca (pronounced too-ah dao in-ka), grows inside a distinctive star-shaped pod. Its seeds produce a silky, fast-absorbing oil naturally rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and antioxidants, making it one of our most treasured oils for dry, ageing and sensitive skin.

We use sacha inchi oil across our Organic Extra-Virgin Sacha Inchi Facial Oil and our award winning Sacha Inchi Ginger & Turmeric Sacial Oil where it helps replenish moisture without leaving the skin feeling heavy. Its nourishing fatty acids help keep skin soft, smooth and supple, while its antioxidant properties help support a healthy, naturally radiant complexion.

Did You Know?

Long before sacha inchi became popular in modern skincare, communities in the Peruvian Amazon and Andes were already cultivating its star-shaped seeds for food and oil.

In Thailand, the seeds are roasted and eaten, while the rich oil is used for cooking. In our products, we use cold-pressed oil to deliver rich nourishment with a surprisingly light feel. Aunt Daeng’s small organic farm has traditionally pressed the seeds locally, first by hand and later with a hydraulic extractor, producing oil.
