Meet the Ingredient

Cinnamon, known in Thailand as op choei (pronounced ohp cho-ei), comes from the fragrant inner bark of an evergreen tree. As the bark dries, it naturally curls into delicate layered quills and develops the warm, sweet-spiced aroma that makes cinnamon instantly recognisable.

We use finely milled cinnamon in our Cleansing Bar Soap. Paired with sandalwood, turmeric and coconut, it gently lifts away surface buildup while helping rough, oily or dull skin feel clean, smooth and refreshed.

Verified by Modern Science

Cinnamon is naturally rich in cinnamaldehyde and antioxidant polyphenols and has powerful antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. These protective compounds neutralise free radicals, help counter inflammatory stress and supports clean, balanced and healthy skin that feels soft, smooth and refreshed after cleansing.

Did You Know?

A cinnamon stick isn’t a twig or branch. It’s made from thin strips of fragrant inner bark that naturally curl into layered quills as they dry. In Thai cooking, cinnamon brings warm aromatic depth to dishes such as massaman curry and slow-braised meat preparations.

Finely milled cinnamon bark also has a place in botanical cleansing. In our Cleansing Bar, the powder gently polishes away surface buildup while its antioxidant and antimicrobial properties help leave the face and body feeling fresh, smooth and comfortably cleansed.
